‘Say yes to new adventures’
As I sped towards London, in the comfort of my train seat sipping on some tea, I looked at the countryside flying by through the window. It stuck me how urgent and fast life seem to pass by – only a second ago I was looking forward to summer and already the clocks have turned back and the darkness seems to devour the daylight more and more everyday. As the sprawl of London came into view, never did I think I would find a peaceful place in such an inconceivably huge metropolis. However, London proved me wrong!
After a happy reunion with one of my nearest and dearest friends that I was visiting for the weekend, we decided to explore one of London’s famous parks; Bushy Park. The shapes and sounds of the city soon faded into the background and a sense of calm and stillness enveloped me. Deer played lazily under the heavy morning mist – it felt like we were in the wilderness of the Scottish highlands! The deep autumnal tones of the heather blend in beautifully with the greener leaves of the trees that have yet to drop their leaves to reveal their skeletons.
If you are ever in south west London, put Bushy Park on your to do list! Following your walk or ride why not sink into a comfy chair and have a coffee in one of the many lovely coffee shops in the area? If the great British weather catches you out, Hampton Court Palace sits in the park and has lots under cover to explore.
