Autumn is always a tricky time of year to get your clothing choices right. The day starts cold and maybe slightly damp, on the way to the station you can get soaked in a downpour and by the time your at work or at the office it can be relatively warm and humid – the sun might have even made an appearance! Well in todays post, I’m going to give you my top three tips to feel comfortable and always prepared in Autumn.

1 – Layering

The key to layering is having lots of different materials and keeping them nice and flexible so that it’s easy to take one layer off and add another over the top. Zips are your best friend for doing this and there are lots of different options for the A/W17 season – referencing the athlesuire trend we are seeing so much of.  To add interest and depth to an outfit why not add a pop of bold colour (on trend for AW/17 – we are finally moving away from the monochrome colour palate) or to add texture you could even layer multiple shirts.

2 – Fabrics and Materials

At this time of year you need to be wearing fabrics that are warm but not heavy, since when you remove or add layers you dont want to feel like they are cumbersome or restricting you. Down is one of my favourites because it can be compacted so easily, is light as a feather and comes in so many different options and styles this season.

3 – Shape

At this time of year you can experiment with different garments that can change the shape of an outfit. Gilets are a great option for doing this there are some gorgeous lux ones in the market this season from designers such as Brunello Cucinelli. I have got so much  use out of my gilet already!

Let me know what your favourite tip is and in the mean time why not follow me on Instagram?
