The leaves are falling, the canopy overhead is turning from a lush green to a burnt umber colour and the smell of warming drinks wafts out of cafe doors. Long gone are the days of wallowing by pools and gorging on baklava. This means it’s time to start a new phase of grooming – using oils, masks and lux creams. Every-time this time of year comes, I have a few favourites that I reintroduce to my routine to stay feeling fresh.
One product that I have been loving recently is the Aesop lucent facial concentrate. I use it sporadically, when my skin looks and feels dull, after I have cleansed my face but before I apply my moisturiser. When you wake up in the morning you will see such a difference (I was actually shocked)!
Another product I have started to use in my autumn grooming routine, when my skin feels flaky and dry, is a good facial oil. I think you need to experiment with which one works for your skin as some hinder and definitely don’t help my skin… However, I use Bio – oil and it really helps make my skin feel hydrated. I simply mix the oil in with my moisturiser – it takes a little longer to notice the effects when you use this product but I would recommend it as a good starting point. Another oil that I adore, all year round but use constantly in autumn, is the Le Labo bath oil in the fragrance Santal 33. After using this for the first time you actually won’t believe how good you smell or how incredible your skin will feel!
Finally, my saviour in autumn is the Aesop Rosehip Seed Lip Cream. This is the only product that stops my lips getting chapped and one tube will last you through winter. I only really need to use it once per day and the smell is lovely to drift asleep to.
